It has been announced that the results of Telecom Notice 2011-77 will be made public today.  I will be attending the lock up along with a couple of other TekSavvy folks. It should make for a really interesting day.  For those wondering how these things work; there is a closed door proceeding where wholesalers and incumbents alike are present.  The decisions will be passed down (at this point we don’t know what that will look like) and usually include a time frame where incumbents and wholesalers are expected to implement any changes.  Regardless of the decision nothing is expected to change right away.  Once we know where we stand as far as the CRTC goes, the incumbents will then have to file adjusted tariffs and propose timelines for implementation if the CRTC doesn’t set the timelines themselves. Once we understand the implications we will provide updates to you on how it will affect us and what it will mean going forward for you.

So there you have it in a nutshell. It’s been a big year in general and hopefully we can close it off on a positive note starting with positive results today.  For our part we’re certainly ready to take it to the next level if need be and will provide updates as soon as we have them for you.  Let’s hope my next update today is one with loads of positive news!
